Friends and followers of this blog, at the request of some students and due to the success with the previous article dedicated to the jump this week I will talk again about the right technique to practice jump. First as realistic riders we must assume that not all the flaws in the jumping technique can be remedied, the natural talent of many horses is limited and in turn, this makes it difficult for you to get better jump. There are horses that jump very well because they have this natural talent and guided by an expert hand can give excellent sporting results.

Trainings and championships

Techniques to improve the jump of the horse. What I am clear about is that in order to get the maximum performance on a jump horse we must know how to get to its natural abilities, as much as possible using as a tool a correct training and a correct technique of riding, so in the previous article I talked about that a correct training helps us to improve the performance of the horse destined for the jump.

If we want to improve our jump horse, because we want it to jump higher, for example, then we will have to improve the horse’s jumping technique as much as its natural ability allows.
We’ll set up a training program for the jump horse.
* Try to improve the agility and strength of the horse’s extremities, for example, climbing slopes, doing better transitions, lateral work, back inside, tranching bars.
* In combinations containing an oxer, it can be constructed with a slightly higher frontal, also the distances in a combination should be gradually reduced.
• If the horse shoves its front limbs unevenly, try to jump most often out of narrower turns or at a wider angle.
• The reasons why the horse does not bend the fore extremities enough, especially at the tip of the shoulder and at the elbow joint, are because the horse cannot use its back well.
Exercises to improve the technique of the rear extremities
The agility and flexibility of the hindquarters can be improved with the rising and falling slopes, step bars tranqueo at the trot, and also with exercises of dressage as well as the half pirouettes, steps back and work on the side.
* Tries to jump with the horse with a greater meeting; the bad technique in the use of the rear extremities by the horse is usually the result of an insufficient degree of meeting, collection and activity of the hindquarters.
* For this, appropriate jump exercises may include: jumping with a slightly higher element first followed by very close smaller obstacles.
Jump backgrounds with a lower bar first followed by a higher not too separate bar.
The height of the jumps will determine the level of the horse, we will never jump above its possibilities, so we will not exhaust it, these exercises are to improve the technique of the horse, not to make it jump higher, the latter we will achieve when the horse improves its technique and increases its strength over time.
Remember: do not overload the horses, because their trust can be easily destroyed that way!

Exercises to improve the strength of the hindquarters

Techniques to improve the jump of the horse.
The ability of the horse to jump well that depends on the development of a good engine in the back rooms, so all of the exercises that strengthen and activate the hindquarters are beneficial, for example, the transitions, the lengthening of the sessions of the training exercises, stop and start to move in an uphill slope etc.
* The classic exercise for spring development (muscle strength) is the one that is achieved at the time of the shake and suspension, and its beneficial effect can be increased by creating a row of small obstacles followed.
* The different jumps in closed curves or from a shorter distance are also suitable. • It is good to take walks in the countryside where we gallopemos quaarriba.

Exercises to improve reaction speed

The speed of reaction is usually learned by the horse with
experience.
* In jump training, jump materials should be changed as much as possible.
• It is also effective to maintain the speed of reaction by changing the distances between jumps.
* With horses that are slow to respond, convinations must be mounted at a slower speed.
* Responsiveness is also developed by jumping in exceptional situations, and jumping in several different fields with small breaks in the middle of training.
Remember: the jump must be a vital part of the basic training of all horses, regardless of whether it is later used only in classical dressage, the jumping training constantly complements and balances the work on track in the same way that the dressage improves the technique of the jump.
The jump must never become unpleasant for the horse, the great value of these exercises lies in the fact that a high degree of gymnastics ability can be achieved with a small effort and with small jumps.
Remember: variety is good for you and your horse!
The limit must be where the height and effort are not too much for the horses and cannot cause him to make mistakes. Exercises that undermine a horse’s confidence achieve the opposite of the beneficial results that the jump performed correctly can bring.
* We should also use Gymnastics jumps for our own training, especially to improve our safety and balance through exercises such as: jumping without reins or stirrups.
It is important to learn how to feel the rhythm and how to measure the distances in order to guide our horses.
